Slamovits Lab @ Dalhousie University |  - We are in the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology at Dalhousie University in Halifax, Nova Scotia Our research interests are related with molecular biology and evolution of eukaryotes and their genomes. In particular, we are interested in studying how genomes and cells evolve as a result of radical changes in lifestyle such as the […]

They exhibit many fascinating features and also lots of questions. Our research focuses mainly on their genes and genomes, in the context of the evolution of alveolates, the eukaryotic group dinoflagellates belong in. O. marina has been used as a model to study various aspects of protist physiology, ecology […]

So much that the smallest dinoflagellates genomes recorded are about as large as the human genome, whereas the largest are almost 10 times bigger! We don’t know much about them. Not even how many genes or how they are arranged or regulated. Moreover, the way in which DNA is packaged […]
  • http://slamo.biochem.dal.ca/research/biology-and-evolution-of-apicomplexa/ Slamovits Lab @ Dalhousie University |  Biology and evolution of Apicomplexa - APICOMPLEXA is a diverse group of protists that includes thousands of obligate intracellular parasites. Members of this group are known to infect virtually every animal phyla, from land, sea and air. In many cases the relationship between the protist and its host is of relatively peaceful coexistence, but in others things go nasty and the […]

Haplosporidia is a group of protists (single-celled eukaryotes) that parasitize several kinds of marine invertebrates, including oysters, mussels, clams and crabs. They belong in the eukaryotic supergroup Rhizaria (Cercozoa), but no other details are currently known. It is a relatively small group, with only a handful of known genera, although more species […]

  • BiggDaddyWhite - Pc Doc spyware

Arrived on time, but the program sent, had wrong acct. #, so had 2 call to pc head quarters to get a correct one, after that so far all is good.

  • A. Tu - Great product! Would recommend to any pet lover.

Backed the project on Indiegogo, got it and absolutely loved it. Setting up was a breeze and interaction was very fun. Taking pictures and video recording worked pretty smoothly. The device caught my dog's attention right away, now everytime I turn on the device, the dog runs and waits by it. The only complaint (if any) is that more than one treat gets tossed out at once, but that's a pretty minor issue. Overall very happy with the purchase.

  • Jeff - Doesn't light up as indicated

Using this tester, I was having a terrible time figuring out which sockets in my houses were grounded and which ones weren't, because the lights of this tester do NOT light up as indicated! After considerable trial and error, I discovered the following pattern for the lights for ungrounded sockets:
