  • D. Jester - Good stands, just know their limitations

Pretty solid for their size, weight, and price. These are not meant for competitive powerlifters, just not that heavy duty. I see they are rated to 390 lbs. I think I would stop at around 315 on them (3- 45 lb./20kg plates on each side of an olympic bar). Also I would not bang a heavy weight against the backstop of them. Use with common sense, and they should be adequate for all but the most serious of home gyms. They are also light enough to put away when not in use.

  • Bookreporter - Fascinating, mesmerizing and very readable

I was so enchanted with HOMEWARD BOUND that I did something I haven’t done in decades: I listened to the new Paul Simon album (Stranger to Stranger, which is actually pretty good) and dusted off (figuratively, since everything is digital now) the Simon & Garfunkel catalogue, particularly the oh-so-easily-relatable “Fakin’ It.” Who knew, a half-century after the fact, that a three-minute-plus folk-rock song would be even more relevant to at least some people than it was when it was first recorded?

  • Joe MacBu - Ho hum

While I've enjoyed several other book projects by the Lucky Peach team, I found this one to be kinda dumb. Sure, I appreciate the stupid humor they're sort of going for, but I feel that the culinary part doesn't have much substance. I made several of the recipes and found them to be ho hum. Just uninteresting, boring, blah. They also go for a 70s photo style, which unfortunately does not make the dishes look appetizing.
