A fantastic story about a fantastic journey....the aborted attempt by Shackleton and crew to cross the continent of Antartica in 1915. I gave it only three stars because I found the writing to be a little dry and repetitive, especially in comparison to other great non-fiction stories I have read. Also I thought the book ended too abruptly, without much followup on the characters I had come to care about. However, the story itself is so strong that I would recommend the book. It about the triumph of Shackleton's leadership and his crew against unimaginable conditions. It demonstrates what can be achieved with spirit and discipline, even when pitted against the most inhospitable landscape on our planet!
I bought this ball online from Amazan.com. on the picture you see two big ass stamp saying Official Fiv3 Approved, but when you get your order there is no stamp on the ball completely different from pic.. I didn't expect that..
Wow - what a great read. I kept taking 'breaks' from Saturday chores to keep reading. I loved the tons of action, the unfolding love story, the story premise, the hero & his background. I liked the heroine well enough - she was almost fierce. I wish the sex wasn't the last part of the story. Surely there's a way sex can take place earlier in the story in a non-almost-a-virgin manner & not ruin the struggle between H&h & their commitment.(Ex: Lauranne Dohner's Valiant & most of her New Species series) The action/fighting scenes weren't super elaborate or gory but read well with good timing & believable movements.
This book was a valuable asset for our recent trip to Germany. I just wish I had bought it sooner in order to read it more thoroughly before leaving. Great tips and information. I said repeatedly on our trip to my husband, "Rick Steves says...".
Leaves my hair soft and feeling wonderful! This is a great deal! I have left this product and always come back to it. Works better than any serum I've tried and it doesn't leave my hair icky. However, you need just a little bit.
I don't like being left hanging, so not knowing if there's a sequel or not, the ending of this book did not end satisfactorily form me. However, the storyline and characters were well done and good reading.
